Nittol
Anti-Lice Comb
The Nittol Anti-Lice Comb uses precision micro-grooved steel teeth positioned in a tight spiral pattern, spaced closer together than the smallest egg, to catch lice and eggs in one pass.
The micro-groove on each tooth grips on to what it catches, so eggs and lice come away cleanly instead of slipping free. Every tip is rounded, so hair glides through without snagging or scratching the scalp.
Made from stainless steel, the comb won’t rust, and it can be used in the bath, shower, or for checking dry hair.
Step 1
Prep
Work in a well-lit room, ideally near a window or bright lamp. The comb can be used on wet or dry hair. If you are using the comb alongside a treatment lotion or shampoo, follow the instructions provided on the treatment before combing. If the hair is long, divide it into sections. Clip or tie back each section until you’re ready to comb it.
Step 2
Comb
Take one section and comb from root to tip in slow, steady strokes. Wipe the comb on a tissue or cotton pad after each stroke and check for lice or eggs. Rinse the comb under water if it becomes clogged, then continue combing that section. Clip the section back once it’s fully checked, then move on to the next.
Step 3
Repeat
Repeat until every section has been combed through and all head lice and eggs have been removed. Repeat the whole process every three to four days until three checks in a row come back clear.
Step 4
Clean the comb
After use, wash the comb in warm soapy water; do not boil the comb. Before each use, check the comb is not broken and that it is free of lice and eggs.
